EMAILS AND BLOGS

Internet has become an inseparable part of human life nowadays. Through internet, people can get any kinds of information they want. Internet also makes the world a small place with the service of e-mail. E-mail is electronic messages sent over the internet or a network. E-mail can contain both text and files. This kind of mail does not require a stamp or a postman to get the message delivered to the person we want to send e-mail. It also needs only seconds to send the message.

We can communicate with a friend in another continent every minute by sending e-mails. We also can apply for a job in a place so far away from where we belong in just one click. Another advantage of e-mail is it costs almost nothing to send the letter as one who uses the internet and wants to send an e-mail will be charged only for the internet usage and not for the cost for sending e-mail. There are many websites that provide free e-mail service. One of the most outstanding free e-mail providers is www.yahoo.com.

Another use of internet is the feature called blog. A blog is a frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links. A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person’s life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary/ guide site, although there are as many unique types of blogs as there as people.

People maintained blogs long before the term was coined, but the trend gained momentum with the introduction of automated published systems, most notably Blogger at blogger.com. Thousands of people use services such as Blogger to simplify and accelerate the publishing process.

Blogs are alternatively called web logs or weblogs. However, “blog” seems less likely to cause confusion, as “web log” can also mean a server’s log files.

Internet telah menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan manusia saat ini. Melalui internet, orang bisa mendapatkan segala jenis informasi yang mereka inginkan. Internet juga membuat dunia menjadi tempat kecil dengan layanan e-mail. E-mail adalah pesan elektronik yang dikirim melalui internet atau jaringan. E-mail dapat berisi baik teks dan file. Jenis mail tidak memerlukan cap atau tukang pos untuk mendapatkan pesan yang disampaikan kepada orang yang kita inginkan untuk mengirim e-mail. Hal ini hanya perlu beberapa detik untuk mengirim pesan.

Kita dapat berkomunikasi dengan teman di benua lain tiap menit dengan mengirim e-mail. Kita juga dapat melamar pekerjaan di tempat yang begitu jauh dari tempat kita berada hanya dalam satu klik. Keuntungan lain dari e-mail itu hampir tidak ada biaya untuk mengirim surat bagi orang yang menggunakan internet dan ingin mengirim e-mail hanya akan dikenakan untuk penggunaan internet dan bukan untuk biaya untuk mengirim e-mail. Ada banyak situs yang menyediakan layanan gratis e-mail. Salah satu yang paling menonjol penyedia e-mail gratis adalah www.yahoo.com.

Penggunaan internet lain adalah fitur yang disebut blog. Sebuah blog adalah publikasi pemikiran pribadi yang kronologis dan sering dan link Web. Sebuah blog sering merupakan campuran dari apa yang sedang terjadi dalam hidup seseorang dan apa yang terjadi di Web, semacam buku harian / situs panduan, walaupun ada sebanyak jenis unik blog.

Orang mempertahankan blog sudah lama sebelum istilah ini diciptakan, tetapi kecenderungan memperoleh momentum dengan pengenalan sistem diterbitkan secara otomatis, terutama Blogger di blogger.com. Ribuan orang menggunakan layanan seperti Blogger untuk mempermudah dan mempercepat proses penerbitan.

Blog secara alternatif disebut web log atau weblog. Namun, "blog" tampaknya cenderung menyebabkan kebingungan, sebagai "web log" dapat juga berarti file-file log server.
